Those 2015 manifestos in full

April 24, 2015 by Pat Thomas

We like to make things simple for our supporters.

Our intention was to to write an in depth summary of what all the major parties thought about GMOs as soon as the party manifestos were published in mid April.

Little did we know that all the main parties in the UK – bar the Greens and Plaid Cymru – think that our broken food system is too unimportant to engage with. Below are the comments of the main parties on GMOs as they appear in the manifestos – originally run on our Facebook page as a series of cards.

In spite of this poor showing we still believe in the political process so if you’d like to engage your potential next MP on the issue of GMOs we strongly urge you to do so.

You can find out more about who the candidates are in your area by using the search at yournextmp.com. Since you may not get an immediate answer and time is running out we also encourage you to tweet to those MPs who have twitter accounts (not all do,try checking in with Tweetminster) or the main party HQs and raise the issue of GMOs with them now.

You may also want to take a look at this article in the journal Nature in which several of the parties expand on their thinking on ‘science’ topics, including GMOs.
